Dasha Denger

Hello, my name is Dasha Denger. I am a photographer by hobby, and I enjoy experimenting with different varieties of photography such as macro flowers & insects, high-speed water splashes, people & portraits, as well as many others that come my way. My passion and heart is set on keeping photography in my life for the rest of my life, and to never stop doing what I love. To me it’s something that I can always come to and relax from everyday stresses. I also look at my works as something that I have accomplished through these past few years as an individual. I have created my own style, and proved to myself, first of all, as well as others that I can be different from everyone else, yet still have a life where no matter what happens there is always a subject that will continue to interest me and open more doors for me as I grow as a photographer. I am in no way a professional, however I do hope to someday be known for my works, and make a living by doing what I love to do.

As you can see back then my photographs were very…plain. Not a whole lot of passion, originality or significance. As you can see from 2007 to 2008 my work improved a bit. My equipment was still the same, but I learned how to use it better, thus high-speed photograph of a water droplet falling from the sink. I would have never done that before.

From these photographs even I can see that I have improved. At first when people told me back in 2007, “Hey, don’t worry you’ll get much better with time!” You think I believed a word they said? Haha no, I didn’t, but now I really see that if you keep trying, and never give up you will most definitely reach your goal. It’s just a matter of time and practice!

Plus having good equipment always helps! I changed my camera and lens completely from about mid August in 2008. This really helped me get better because my camera allowed me to do more things that I wanted to, and therefore I learned much quicker!

Well… Really it’s very easy to see my faults in my early works. There was no quality in the work, no passion, no artistry. Just practice. Which in fact is a good thing! To begin things off you start by practicing, thus getting better and better at whatever your objective is from the start. For me it took about 2 years to get me going on my photography. Through these past years I have changed my equipment completely from – FujiFilm S9100 Digital Camera & Cheap macro lens that twisted onto the actual lens from the camera. To – Nikon D70 DSLR & Sigma 50mm f/2.8 Macro lens. It’s still not the best, but much better than before!

Trust me, if you have the extra money, or your birthday/Christmas is coming up, ask your grandparents to cash in with your parents for your ultimate gift which will bring you a lot more happiness than a candy bar machine or a squirt gun!

My only advice is to keep trying! When I started, I would have never imagined that I could achieve such high goals that I set for myself, in such a little amount of time. But at the same time I believed in myself, and pushed myself to try harder!

So don’t feel bad if things aren’t turning out the way you want them to, with time and practice they most definitely will!

Good luck, and thank you for viewing!

What are you talking about? Your early works are very beautiful–though I can understand how a person might see plenty of faults of their previous work (I get that a lot too).

I love the water droplets the most. <3 Keep up the great work!

  4. I love this, it’s a great addition to your portfolio. Those are the perfect shots, too, I really like the very first one, the purple in the flower is so vibrant.

Beautiful pictures, and I can definitely feel the passion in the later photos. I’m contemplating getting a decent camera, but I’ve never dabbled in photography outside of a few shots with the family digital camera ;P

    Mmm, love the roses.
